For a couple months now I have slowly been working on my daughter’s Minnie Mouse themed birthday party. I didn’t have a lot of money to spend, so I found items I already had to make her decorations. The party was a hit and I think it turned out pretty cute!
There really wasn’t too much to decorate. I made a ‘Happy Birthday’ banner using scrapbook paper, ribbon and my Cricut machine to cut out the shapes and letters. I covered my mirror with a pink plastic table cloth and attached the banner with clear tape.
For the guest dinner tables I just put down pink plastic table cloths, one centerpiece per table, and confetti made of white gloves, black Minnie heads and pink bows. I also had pink cups with black and white chevron straws, silverware wrapped in pink napkins tied with a black ribbon, water bottles with a duck tape label and black plates with a polka dot bow.
The dessert table was my absolute favorite part of the party. I made a white cake and chocolate cupcakes with hot pink frosting. I also had pink lemonade punch and a friend of mine made a blueberry pie. I made chalk labels to identify each sweet treat and also had a banner made from scrapbook paper and ribboon.
After we stuffed our faces with food it was time to open gifts. It was fun this year because my daughter was actually aware of what was going on and loved opening every single present. She is the only grandchild on both sides of the family and the only great-grandchild on her dad’s side of the family. Needless to say she received a lot of great gifts. We are so blessed to have such a great loving family.
My daughter will not look or smile at the camera to save the world. So, I just have to go with what I got. I think she is still pretty cute.
The Minnie Mouse shirt and piggie hair clips were purchased from Etsy.
