Hello there! Over the years I have come up with a few healthier recipes and thought I would combine them all into one post. So, today I am sharing 15 Healthier Recipes that I hope you enjoy. These are some of my favorite easy to make recipes that take little time to whip up. There is a little something for everyone like gluten free, low carb, Whole30, Paleo and more!
I did a Whole30 last May and I am getting ready to start another next week. I thought it would be helpful to revisit some of the recipes for a healthier eating lifestyle.
So let’s get to all these yummy and healthy recipes!
First up is this Tropical Detox Smoothie. This smoothie is made with frozen mango and pineapples, coconut milk and turmeric. Why turmeric you might ask? Well, it is an anti-inflammatory and helps with stomach problems like bloat from eating all the cookies. I garnished the smoothies with organic coconut flakes and blood oranges. Blood oranges are in season now and I had to take advantage of using them. They are gorgeous and I love the taste. This is such a pretty smoothie.
I have been making energy bites for a couple of years now and these No Bake Trail Mix Energy Bites are by far my favorite! They are packed with protein and anti-oxidants which are great after runs and workouts. Plus, they are a great on the go snack. Just grab a couple on your way out the door and you have a healthy and filling snack.
I love a good smoothie recipe. This Spiced Pear Smoothie is amazing. Pears are one of my favorite fall fruits and anything with warm cinnamon in it tastes amazing. This is a healthy smoothie for mornings on the go or when you want to have a filling snack. This is one gorgeous and tasty smoothie.
Clean Eating Cinnamon Plum Jam. Nothing is more filling than warm cinnamon and plums, so this is the perfect jam recipe. It’s made with all natural ingredients and takes around 30 minutes to make.
Cucumber Tomato and Onion Salad is a refreshing summer salad made with veggies from the garden. This recipe really is all about summer. It’s the only time of year we get fresh produce straight from the ground.
I just love this Spicy Pumpkin Sriracha Hummus! Not only is it yummy, it’s also healthy. Hummus is made with canned chick peas or garbanzo beans (they’re the same thing). These beans contain fiber, protein, manganese and folate. Its a super healthy food.
This Lemon Blueberry Chia Jam recipe has only 4 all natural ingredients. This jam is made with lemon zest and juice, blueberries, local honey and chia seeds. The blueberries and chia seeds both contain antioxidants which help prevent or delay cell damage and also help to improve memory and revive your skin. Chia seeds also are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, protein, fiber and calcium. Local honey helps relieve seasonal allergy symptoms. I’d say that’s some serious healthy benefits packed into some seriously tasty jam! It’s good for us runners and our sore muscles.
These Spicy Kale Chips are a healthy snack option for Whole30.
PB2 Oatmeal with Almond Milk: Oatmeal is heart healthy and it lowers cholesterol and contains antioxidants. I like adding the powdered PB2 in my oatmeal. It has the same great taste as peanut butter without all the fat and calories and it still has the protein. Also, I like using almond milk instead of regular milk. Almond milk also has antioxidants, calcium and vitamin E.
One way to start drinking more water is by infusing it with natural flavors. I just love this Blackberry Mint Infused Water! Adding fruit and herbs make it enjoyable and taste delicious. This flavor combo is definitely a winner. It almost reminds me of the Blackberry Clearly Canadian. Do you remember those?
This Fresh Pico De Gallo is made with fresh whole ingredients. Using fresh produce really makes the food taste so much better and it’s healthier for you too. It’s great as a dip and as a topping for tacos.
Sausage and Veggie Frittata is amazingly good! It’s loaded with lots of veggies, eggs and pork sausage from a local farm. This recipe is Paleo and Whole30 approved.
I love Chicken Salad but hate celery. Anytime I go to a restaurant all the chicken salad sandwiches have celery in them. That’s why I have been making my own recipe for several years now. It is so light and refreshing. I like to serve my chicken salad on a piece of Romaine lettuce to save on the extra carbs.
Making your granola at home is cost effective and you know exactly what the ingredients are. This Blueberry Flax Granola is packed with vitamins, fiber, protein and anti-oxidants from the blueberries.
I like making these Stove Top Potatoes rather than heating the oven. A lot of times I bake the main meat dish in the oven, so there isn’t any space for the potatoes. I think cooking the potatoes on the stove top makes them crispier and full of more flavor. These are now Whole30 approved!
I hope you enjoy these healthier recipes!
