Now that Labor Day is over and fall is just around the corner, I wanted to make a pumpkin card. Fall has always been my favorite season and I’ll take any excuse to make something with these colors and themes. I left a sentiment off of the card so that I can use it for any fall occasion.
For the card I used:
- White card stock
- Scrapbook paper
- Cricut Machine
- Adhesive
- Twine
- Scissors
- Paper cutter
Step 1: I cut a piece of white card stock and folded it to make a card. You can make whatever size card you would like. The card I made is 4.5″ x 5″.
Step 2: Next I cut a piece of black and orange polka dot scrapbook paper the same size as the card stock. Then I adhered the polka dot paper using a tape runner. I love this paper. It is very fun and modern.
Step 3: I used my Cricut machine to cut out a pumpkin shape. First I started with the Doodlecharms cartridge. I selected the pumpkin shape and the blackout option.
*Instead of using the pumpkin shape, I used the cut out around it. I will save the pumpkin and use it for another craft.
Step 4 : I tied a piece of baker’s twine around the bottom of the pumpkin cut out just to add some embellishment to the card. I wanted to keep this card as simple as possible.
Step 5: I placed 4 foam adhesive squares on the corner of the pumpkin cut out. This allows the cut out to become 3D and pop off the card.
Step 6: Finally I place the pumpkin cut out onto the card. I love how the polka dot paper jumps out at you. This is such a simple but cute card.
Isn’t this DIY Paper Straw Easel super cute?! I wish I had come up with this idea, but I didn’t. I found this on Pinterest. It was posted by Wants and Wishes. They have a wonderful tutorial on how to make the easel. You can find it here.
The paper straw easel is a fun and interesting way to display this Pumpkin Cut-Out Card!

Cute! I don’t know what I would use it for though. Maybe I could start giving out Halloween cards instead of Christmas cards. Or give them out at Christmas and go with a nightmare before Christmas theme!

Moncia, you can use it for anything reason. That’s why I didn’t put a sentiment on the card. I actually like the idea of using it as a invite card to a fall party 🙂 Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful night!

Thanks Christy! I got the polka dot paper at Hobby Lobby. You could also print a pumpkin image off your computer then trace it onto scrapbook paper and cut it out 🙂
Love your series this month on cleaning the kitchen. My stove needs help! Have a wonderful night!
