I found the cutest Halloween paper and stickers at Archiver’s last weekend in St. Louis. Since Saturday was World Card Making Day, I thought I would make cards to send to the family. I recently made my Daughter’s Halloween costume and will send a picture inside the cards. While I was making the cards I came up with the idea of making tags for gift bags.
Material I used:
- Cardstock
- Paper Pad
- Stickers
- Washi Tape
- Twine
- Paper cutter
- Adhesive tape
- Glue Pen
- Cricut Machine with letter cartridge
HOW TO MAKE THE CARD
Step 1: First I started by making a card using a white piece of cardstock. I measured 5.5 x 8.5 inches on the cardstock and then cut the paper using a paper cutter.
Step 2: Next I cut a piece of pattern paper from the Doodlebug Design Inc. Halloween Parade 6 x 6 paper pad and used it for the background. The paper is black with little white stars. I adhered the paper to the card stock using a tape runner.
Step 3: I cut two different sized pieces of pattern paper from the paper pad and added some twine to the smaller piece. I used my tape runner to adhere the paper to the first layer.
Step 4: I used my Cricut machine and Basic Shapes cartridge to cut the letters B O O using leftover white cardstock scraps. I used my Martha Stewart glue pen to place the letters on the card.
Step 5: The last thing I did was place a cute mini doodle-pops Owl sticker from the Doodlebug Design Inc collections on the top right corner of the card.
HOW TO MAKE THE GIFT TAG
Step 1: First I measured a piece of pattern paper from the paper pad, using a coaster of all things. It’s nice a square. I then used my paper cutter to cut it out. I chose this cute green paper with spiders and webs on it.
Step 2: I tied a purple and white twine around a piece of orange washi tape and then stuck the tape on the bottom on the paper.
Step 3: I took a piece of purple washi tape and placed it on the top left corner. Using a black pen I wrote ‘trick or treat’ on the piece of purple washi tape.
Step 4: The last embellishment I used was a cute fuzzy spider sticker from Martha Stewart Crafts. I used a tiny black clothes pin to attach the tag to the paper bag.
I can’t wait to make more cards and gift tags to send to the family. They are going to LOVE it!
