Today, I have a very easy and cute spring diy craft. You can make these Mint & Mustard Painted Succulent Pots for yourself or give them away as a gift. I have included 6 FREE printable ‘Happy Spring’ tags at the end of this post.
First off you need some materials. I don’t know about you, but I’m on a limited budget. That’s why all my crafts are inexpensive to make! This project cost around $10 for all three potted plants. Not too shabby.
MATERIALS:
- Terra Cotta Pots
- Paint
- Foam brushes
- Succulent plants
- Twine
- Scissors
- 2 inch round paper punch
First start by painting your pots. I’m in love with this mint and mustard color combo. It definitely says spring to me. I don’t know about you, but I am ready for some warmer weather. This has been a cold and looong winter. The colors used are Sea Glass and Spicy Mustard from Americana Acrylic Paint. I used two separate foam brushes to apply the paint.
After the paint dries, all you need to do is transfer you plants to the pots. I bought two varieties of Succulent plants at my local nursery. One is a Aloe, and the other two are Black Prince Hen & Chicks. I love these plants because not only are they beautiful, they are almost indestructible. Let’s just say I’m not the greatest at remembering to water plants, which is why these plants are perfect. They are very low maintenance and aren’t they gorgeous?
I have made 6 FREE ‘Happy Spring’ tags that you can print if you are giving these pots away as gifts. They are in coordinating colors of course! Use a 2 inch round paper punch to cut out the tags. I really like this scalloped punch. Then use a small hole punch and tie colorful twine around the pots.

I just love how easy and cute these pots turned out! What do you think?
Happy Spring!

Who says old dogs can’t learn new tricks? I didn’t know there were different kinds of hens and chicks. We got ours from our KY house, brought a few with us to Western CO (west of Grand Junction). I’ll have to make a trip to wherever it was you said you got yours to see what they have. Our hens/chicks don’t like the freezing weather but they bounce back in Summer. We just clean out the dead stuff and we have lots of hens/chicks again. I’d like to get a few different kinds for some color variety. Your posts look really pretty with the succulents in them. Great color choices for the pots. Will enhance any area you put them in.
Thanks so much for the cute labels, appreciate it. It’s amazing what just a little label will do for anything. I know how you feel about cost of things, we’re on SS and Grand Junction isn’t a good place for people without money. Went to buy ink cartridges the other day, they’ve gone up again quite a bit. Where we live the stores really take advantage of being out away from G.J. Talk about being greedy. If ink keeps going up I’ll have to give up printing out anything.
Have a great week and hope you’ll have some pretty Spring days.
