DIY Donut Tin – a cute craft project for any donut lover.
I love donuts or doughnuts however you want to spell it and I can’t believe I haven’t done a craft project using them. So, today I am sharing how to make a DIY Donut Tin that is just the cutest thing ever. This little lunch box type tin can be use for just about anything. You can use it as a small lunch box, for craft supplies, or my daughter uses it to put her My Little Ponies in it. It would be cute to hold jewelry or really anything you want.
I found this small white tin in the clearance section at my local craft store about a year ago. It was on sale, so I picked it up not really knowing what I was going to use it for. Then, one day when I was eating a donut, I thought I would make a vinyl donut stencil and put it on the tin. The tin is round like a donut and well, the rest is history. You can find a round tin just about anywhere.

INSTRUCTIONS:
First, I started by purchasing the donut cut file in the Silhouette Design Store for $0.99
I then uploaded the donut cut file in Silhouette and resized the image to fit on my tin. They nice thing was once I resized one component of the image, the rest resized to fit the proportion. I cut the vinyl into the sizes I needed for each piece of the donut.
Once I ran the cut file through the Silhouette Cameo, I peeled each piece off starting with the light brown vinyl which is the donut. The vinyl was easy to pull off the paper back and I didn’t even need to use a weeding tool.
I placed the light brown vinyl donut in the center of my tin, then placed the pink vinyl icing directly on top. I just used my hands to smooth out the vinyl to where there were no air bubbles.
The last step was to place the vinyl sprinkles on top of the icing. I just placed them in a random pattern. And that’s it!
This DIY Donut Tin was probably the easiest vinyl craft projects I have done and it is definitely the cutest.
And of course we had to use actually donuts for props. They were delicious! Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my DIY Donut Tin craft project.
