DIY Typography Zipper Pouch using HTV – create a personalized Make Today Beautiful pouch perfect for holding your craft, sewing, makeup supplies, and more!
Hello there! Today, I am so excited to share my DIY Typography Zipper Pouch using HTV. I have had this coral colorblock pouch for over a year now and wanted to personalize it using some gold heat transfer vinyl. This craft project is very easy to make and I just loved how it turned out. You can use it for its intended purpose as a pencil case or you can totally mix things up and using it for storing craft and sewing supplies, even as a makeup bag. I love this simple reminder to Make Today Beautiful.
Supplies: (affiliate links)
- Coral Colorblock Pouch
- Cricut Explore Air + Tools & Mat Set
- EasyWeed Heat Transfer Vinyl – Vegas Gold
- Iron
- Towel
Instructions:
Start by opening the Cricut Design Space. I am using the free font, Jenna Sue for this project but feel free to use your favorite. For this coral colorblock pouch, I am sizing the image at 7 inches wide, which will make the height 4 inches. I placed the font in the top left corner of the mat.
Cut a piece of the gold HTV, 7 inches wide by 4 inches tall. Place the cut piece of vinyl on the cutting mat shiny side down. Use the scraper to smooth the vinyl.
Make sure the dial is set to “Iron-on” before cutting.
When reviewing the cut settings in Design Space, select “mirror image”. This option is used for iron on vinyl. Select the text and send to machine.
Remove the extra vinyl from the transfer paper after cutting. I find that using the weeding tools is very helpful for pulling the vinyl off of the paper.
Use the weeding tool to remove the negative space in the font.
Next, heat the bag with an iron. Place the transfer right side up.
Place a towel over the vinyl and hold the iron over it for about 20 seconds, making sure to apply pressure over the entire design. Remove the towel and flip the bag inside out. Iron the inside of the bag over the vinyl image for another 20 seconds. Remove the transfer sheet.
I love how this personalized DIY Typography Zipper Pouch using HTV turned out! This is perfect for storage my new Prima Watercolor Pencils and sketch book. This would also be great for sewing supplies like embroidery floss or a handy makeup bag.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you find the beauty in today!!!
