Hello there! Its almost October which means Halloween time. Today, I am sharing these Haunted Halloween Signs that are perfect for your Halloween decor. Can you believe these signs are made out of foam? It’s true! The pre-made signs are easily made by painting each sign with acrylic paints to create creepy and fun decor.
Supplies (affiliate links):
- FloraCraft® EPS Foam: Halloween Signs (available at JoAnn’s)
- FloraCraft® StyroGlue®
- Paint Brushes
- Acrylic Paints
- Wood
- Spider Webs *optional
- Black Crow * optional
Instructions:
I started by painting all three foam signs using a black acrylic paint. I love these foam Halloween signs because the surface is smooth and no prep is needed. Let the black paint dry before moving on to the next step.
I used a light gray acrylic paint to paint over the black paint. This step makes the signs look distressed and old. I like how the gray breaks up the boldness of the black.
I painted the raised letters on each sign using purple, green, and orange acrylic paint. I wanted to use bright Halloween colors for a pop of fun since the black and gray are spooky.
I cut a scrap piece of wood that I had in my garage for the pole that the signs attach to. I painted the wood with a gray enamel paint. Then, I used StyroGlue to glue the foam signs to the wood board. Finally, I added some craft spider webs and hot glued a small black crow to the top of the wood board.
These Haunted Halloween Signs are great for your front yard to greet trick or treaters! You could even leave a bowl of candy in front of the signs.
