Who doesn’t love the smell of warm banana bread baking in the oven? I just love the way the house smells when I make it. We often have over ripe bananas that turn black, but there’s no need to throw them away! They make for great bread because they are easy to mash.
List of ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 kosher salt
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (approx. 3 ripe bananas)
Step 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Also, grease the inside of a loaf pan with cooking spray and set aside.
Step 2. Combine the following dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl and whisk together:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Step 3. Combine the following wet ingredients in a medium size bowl and whisk together. *I just whisked mine in a 2 cup measuring cup.
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Step 4. Mash 1 1/2 cups bananas.
Step 5. Combine the wet ingredients and mashed bananas into the large bowl of dry ingredients and mix. Then fold in 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts.
Step 6. Pour the mixture into your greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
This is a great bread to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Also, it makes a great gift to give others especially around the holiday season.
