My daughter Ellie turned 3 on July 5th. Oh my, how time flies. Last year I went waay over board on a Minnie Mouse party. I made almost every thing myself. The decorations, food and punch. You name it. So, this year I wanted to throw a super easy and cheap birthday party. It was a Blue & Red Raspberry Party!
First I started by making some DIY Tissue Paper Tassels. I tied the tassels to a large 36″ balloon and took some birthday pictures of my daughter at our neighbors barn the week before the party. After the pictures were done, I made the tassels into a banner and hung it on the wall for the party. I am SO in love with the tassels! They look amazing and are super easy and cheap to make.
Since I loved the tassels so much, I made a mini banner for the cake. I bought the cake at a local bakery. It was white cake with raspberry filling of course. It was SO good and the best part was I didn’t make it. HA!
I did make some cream cheese sugar cookie bars with cream cheese icing and some more tassels.
A huge Thank You to PartyPail for supplying the party with tablecloths, place mats, napkins, plates, cups, cutlery and paper straws. They had just the colors I needed for the Blue & Red Raspberry party. PartyPail also has other quality products with great customer service and fast shipping. I will be ordering from them for the next party.
For one more decoration idea, I made a hot air balloon using a paper lantern that I ordered from PartyPail. I used scrapbook paper and punches to make bunting for the balloon and had my husband tie twine for the rope. I also added a little basket using a paper treat cup and tied yet another tassel banner to the basket. Do you see a theme here?
We had a great time celebrating with family. I love how simple and low key this party was. BUT…it was still cute and colorful.
The inspiration for the Blue & Red Raspberry Party came from this little outfit. Isn’t funny where creative ideas are formed? Ellie is my big 3 year old now.
Thanks again to PartyPail and to all our family who made Ellie’s 3rd birthday amazing!
I was compensated with the party supplies by PartyPail and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

Those tassels really pretty everything up. That cake looks tasty too! I love how you made the hot air balloon. Perhaps I’ll have to do that for a friend’s baby shower. They have a jungle animals in hot air balloons theme.
