Spring is just around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about adding seasonal touches to your home. Here’s a quick way to make easy and beautiful spring decor.
This time of year it feels that the earth is waking up from her slumber and beginning to breathe new life. I don’t do a lot of seasonal decorating, but I can’t resist adding a dose of spring into my home.
If you have five minutes and a slim budget, then this spring decor craft is for you. It’s a no-fuss project and a great way to add a pop of color and texture to your living space.
I like to make decorations that can double for multiple holidays. This project can be displayed all spring along and up until Easter. It’s a nice subtle project.
Spring Decor Supplies:
- 32 oz Large Glass Jar with lid
- Craft Eggs
- Paint
- Twine
- Raffia
- Paint Brush
- Hot Glue Gun
Here’s A Quick Way to Make Easy and Beautiful Spring Decor:
Step 1: Start by gathering your supplies. If you have a craft stash, then this is a great project to use the supplies you already have on hand. The only supplies I bought were the craft eggs and large glass jar.
Step 2: Paint the eggs to match the home decor you already have. One coat should be enough, but add as many coats as you need for full coverage. This blue paint I have used in several projects (like these decorative balls) and is my all-time favorite color and the perfect gray-blue. Plus it happens to match the decor in my living room. Allow the paint to dry.
Step 3: To add a speckled look to your eggs, dip a paint brush or the bristles of a toothbrush into white craft paint. Use your thumb to flick the paint onto the eggs in random areas. You can add as much or as little white paint as you like. These remind me of robin’s eggs.
Step 4: Decorate the glass jar by using a hot glue gun to glue twine to the bottom 1/4 of the jar. Natural twine can go with just about any home decor style and it adds a little something special to an otherwise plain jar.
Step 5: Finally, add the raffia in between the decorated eggs and place inside the jar. I was able to fit six craft eggs into the 32 oz jar.
This craft project can be used for a spring table decoration, displayed on your mantel, or styled with your existing decor. I just love the simplicity and ease of creating this beautiful spring decor. How will you decorate your house for spring?
