Homemade Peanut Butter Fudge with Chocolate Chips – an easy to make family fudge recipe that is creamy and rich. It’s the best ever holiday candy to make and give as a gift.
Hello there! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. The weather is cold an dreary here in Southern Illinois and all I want to do is stay inside and bake and think about the holiday season coming up. Today I am sharing my grandma’s recipe, which she passed down to my mother, for Homemade Peanut Butter Fudge with Chocolate Chips. My grandma and mom never added chocolate chips to their fudge, it’s my own personal spin on the tried and true recipe. My family makes this peanut butter fudge every year for Christmas and I thought I would share this tradition with you all.
This easy peanut butter fudge with chocolate chips recipe is made with just a few ingredients and no candy thermometer is required. You just use the stove top to melt all of the ingredients then you pour the liquid fudge into a greased 9 x 13 baking pan, top with chocolate chips and let set up. It’s so easy and this fudge is so rich and decedent. My mom cuts her fudge into large squares but I prefer to cut smaller bite size pieces because one it’s really sweet and two you can share more of the fudge with others. This recipe makes for a terrific holiday candy. Just wrap the peanut butter fudge in a cute Christmas box or plastic bag and add some red and green ribbon. It’s a sweet gift for neighbors, teachers, co-workers, and more.
The fudge does get pretty hot when cooking on the stove, so you do want to be extra careful, especially if you have older kids helping out.
