Are you in need of a quick, easy gift idea for spring or Easter? This creative egg carton craft solution will take all the guess work out while brightening up someone’s day. This colorful DIY makes a great gift for teachers, friends and family.
Easter crafts are some of my favorite things to make. Springtime brings so much inspiration for Easter. While I enjoy Easter egg decorating with my daughter, I also like finding new ways to celebrate.
If you love paper crafts and spring decorating, this project is for you.
Embellish the outside of a mini craft egg carton with some cheerful spring pattern paper and whimsical imagery. Each tiny cup is a perfect vessel to nestle little gifts and treats.
These are a few gift ideas to add to the inside of the carton:
- Dyed Easter eggs
- Chocolates, candy or homemade sweets like cupcakes.
- Small toys like slime, silly putty and mini animal figures.
- Bath bombs
- Temporary tattoos and stickers

Egg Carton Craft Supplies:
Here’s How To Make A Creative Egg Carton Craft Gift For Easter
Step1: I like to start by picking out a color coordinated paper doily as the base to build from. Once you pick a paper doily, use adhesive to secure it to the top of the egg carton.
Step 2: Choose a piece of scrapbook paper to lay over the paper doily and use adhesive to adhere it. Scrapbook paper is a great way to add color and patterns to any project.
If you have a bunch of paper scraps laying around your craft space, this would be a good way to use them. Think of it as free supplies.
Step 3: I used Xryon’s sticker maker to turn embellishments into stickers.
- start by placing a small embellishment into the top of the sticker maker.
- Push down on the embellishment while pulling on the sticker paper on the opposite side of the maker. Then gently tear.
- Firmly rub the sticker sheet, peel and stick onto egg carton.
Step 4: Use the sticker embellishments to decorate the egg carton. This is the most fun of the entire project. There is no right or wrong way to do this step. Have fun and pick your favorite pieces.
You can add:
- Flowers
- Animals
- Letters
- Banners
- Ribbon
- And so much more!
I believe when it comes to paper crafts that more is generally better. It just adds texture, color, pattern, and fun to a project.
Finally, fill your egg carton with desired gift ideas. These are chocolate hollow eggs I found at the store. You can also add non-candy gifts that would be just as fun.
