How To Make Soothing Blood Orange And Lime Loofah Soap:
Step 1: Start by cutting your loofah body scrubber into small round pieces using a serrated knife. Then, place the pieces into the round silicone mold.
Step 2: Cut your melt and pour soap base into 1 inch square cubes by using a sharp knife.
I am using a coco mango butter melt & pour base from The Wooden Wick Co. This is by far the best quality and easiest base I have used. The texture is so creamy and smooth. Plus, it is easy to melt and pour.
Step 3: Place the soap cubes into a Pyrex measuring cup measuring bowl and melt in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring well after each.
*Quick tip – I use wooden craft sticks when stirring the soap base because I can just throw them away after use. This is much easier than cleaning a spoon or spatula.
Step 4: Once your soap is completely melted and there are no chunks, add your fragrance oil. I used about 5ml or half of the bottle of blood orange and lime agave fragrance oil which is also from The Wooden Wick Co.
*If you want to color your soap base, add a small amount of mica pigment powder before you pour into the molds.
Step 5: Finally, pour the fragranced melted soap into each cavity of the silicone mold with the cut loofah rounds. Spray the liquid soap with a spray bottle that has isopropyl alcohol in it. This will eliminate any bubbles in the soap. Set aside and allow the soap base to firm completely.
You can store the soap in an air-tight container free from water and moisture up to 6 months.
