It’s officially One Room Challenge kickoff time! The ORC is a semi-annual event where 20 featured bloggers plus many guest participants transform a room from start to finish hosted by Linda of Calling it Home. On Thursdays is when all the other participating designers and bloggers chime in with their projects. This is my first time doing the challenge and I will be a guest participant.
For this round, I will be transforming our new home’s living room. We just recently bought and moved into a new home across town. It’s a 1970’s split level and a blank canvas to work with. I can’t wait to share the 6 weeks transformation of this space.
We had lived in our previous home for 12 years and although I will miss the memories made in that house, I am ready for the next chapter in our lives. Our current house on Weisbrook Lane is almost double the size which means I need a lot more furnishings to fill up each space. We are going from one living room to two so I basically need to purchase everything. Don’t worry, there will be many DIYs and repurposed projects that I will be making over the challenge because I want to use some of the decor from my old house and DIYs are cheaper.
Here is a look at what the living room looked like before we moved in:
This living room has great hard wood floors, crown molding, and lots of potential. The wall color is a dark olive green color which we actually changed before we moved in. Can you guess what color paint we choose? Next week I will be sharing my inspiration for this modern traditional living room which will include paint colors, mood boards for furniture and accessories, and my goal for this room. You can sign up below to receive my newsletters that way you won’t miss out on the transformations.
