I LOVE LOVE LOVE paper and pretty paper at that. Most of the craft projects I do involve some type of paper. I also really enjoy wrapping gifts. I started doing that when my Husband and I got married 8 years ago. There’s just something about a pretty package that makes me squeal with excitement inside!
My last visit to Archiver’s I found some really great grey and yellow scrapbook paper made by American Crafts. I know it’s out of character for me to not do the traditional red and green Christmas. But, I just fell in love with this paper plus it’s good to change things up every once in awhile.
Materials:
- Kraft wrapping paper
- Scrapbook paper
- Ribbon
- Tag punch
- Scoring board
- Washi tape
- Clothes pins
- Scissors
- Adhesive tape
- Twine
I started with the smallest package first. I wrapped it tightly using Scotch brown kraft paper that I had purchased at Archiver’s. Then I added a cute paper bow that I downloaded from The Elli Blog. They have a great step by step tutorial on how to assemble the bow. I just put a piece of white cardstock in the printer then clicked print. It’s super easy and totally cute!
To finish the paper bow package I added a piece of grey polka dot washi tape to the paper ribbon. Then I made a cute tag using a white and grey heart scrapbook paper with a tag punch. I added the tag to the bow using a tiny clothes pin.
For the second package I started by wrapping it with the brown kraft paper. I added a traditional bow using yellow ribbon.
Then I made my absolute favorite paper craft right now, a rosette using a grey and white polka paper. Then added yellow chevron paper to the center of the rosette and placed a cork star sticker in the center. I attached the rosette on the package with a large clothes pin that I wrapped in washi tape.
The last wrapping idea is a cookie container using a Pringles can. I wrapped the can using a white and yellow polka dot scrapbook paper. Then I added a grey lattice ribbon to the top and bottom of the can.
I made a 3 D paper star using a 2″ star template and scoring board. I just printed the template off the computer with regular computer paper and traced it onto a piece of double sided scrapbook paper. Then I used a scoring board to score from point to point and folded on the scores. I wrapped some twine around the top of the can and attached the star with another clothes pin covered in washi tape.
I enjoy wrapping presents every year. I get to be crafty and also check off another task on the to do list. I was talking to my mom the other day and she can’t stand wrapping gifts. I told I would but some of them are for me.
These are the only Christmas presents I have purchased so far. I need to make a list and start going to the stores and buying. That is my least favorite part about Christmas. I might just start ordering online so then I won’t have to leave my house and fight the long lines and crowds.

A wonderful and creative way to wrap a gift, Love them all especially the tall one. Perfect for the odd shaped gift that often ends up looking like a big mess with a bow, LOL. Hugs

Love it when I find a paper ‘kindred spirit!’ I too adore all things paper and anything related to letter writing. Isn’t kraft paper fabulous? Such a great blank slate to create so many options with. I love your cork star. I am visiting from over at http://www.ritewhileucan.com I think you might enjoy.
