Create this Red, White and Blue Paper Flower Centerpiece with inexpensive supplies and easy steps for your holiday entertaining.
Hello there! I hope your summer is going well. Today, I am sharing a fun and easy paper craft perfect for your patriotic parties. If you have been following me for awhile, you know that paper crafts are my jam. This Red, White and Blue Paper Flower Centerpiece is so cute that I can’t stand it! Obviously I made this centerpiece to resemble the american flag with red and white stripes, and the blue field with white paper stars. You can use this paper flower bouquet for decorating your home or adding to your holiday tablescape.
One of my most popular posts on the blog is How to make a Pretty Paper Flower Centerpiece. I was recently inspired by a family trip to our state capital to create a red, white and paper flower centerpiece for the patriotic holidays.
Supplies (affiliate links):
- Red, White and Blue Cardstock (Walmart)
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Hot Glue Gun
- Metal Pail (Michaels)
- Ribbon (Michaels) *optional
- 5 inch Foam Ball – I am a member of the FloraCraft® Make It Fun team. I received product for this post. All ideas and opinions are 100% my own.
Instructions:
I started by cutting red, white and blue 8.5 inch by 11 inch cardstock paper into four equal pieces. Then I used a pencil to mark a spiral circle in the center of each cut piece of cardstock.
Next, I used a pair of scissors to cut out the spiral circle. Don’t worry if you don’t follow the lines or your edges are rough. The paper flowers will turn out great!
Start with the outside and roll the paper towards the center. Make sure to roll the start of the flower tight. Once you get to the base, let your flower loosen up a bit. At the base of the paper flower, use a hot glue gun to to glue the flower together. Then use the hot glue gun to glue the flower to the foam ball. For details photos, check out my tutorial here. I made three rows of blue flowers, then alternated one row of red and white.
I made white cardstock stars using my electronic cutting machine. You could cut the stars by hand or use a template. I hot glued them to the blue paper flowers.
Finally, I made a bow with ribbon that I found at Michaels. You don’t have to make a bow but I mean look how adorable it is. If you are interested in how I made this bow just leave me a comment below and I will share the link to the YouTube tutorial I used.
This project does take some time, so I like to put on my favorite Pandora station (The Lumineers) and listen to music while I craft or you could turn on your favorite movie.
I hope you like this Red, White and Blue Paper Flower Centerpiece as much as I do. If you make one for yourself, I would love if you would share it with me! Hope you have a Happy Fourth of July!!!
