Sweet As Pie Birthday Party – a vintage style party at a sweet little bakeshop with tons of printables and delicious pies.
Hello there! I have anxiously been waiting to share this post with y’all. This Sweet As Pie Birthday Party has been in the works for months now. I have shared a few sneak peaks on my Instagram account and today is the big reveal. My family and I celebrate my daughter’s fourth birthday in late June. It was a big to do since she is an only child and only grand and great-grand child on both sides of the family. I wanted to throw a vintage style party at my friend’s bakeshop. This party is full of color and character same as the little girl who it was for.
I had the privilege of attending my very first SNAP! Blog Conference this past April. There I meet the ever so sweet and talented Kiki from Kiki & Company. I have known Kiki in the blogging world and we even contribute to the same blog together, but have never met her in person. Kiki is an artist and loves to create in many different ways, but one of her most known talents is design and printables. We had a chance to chat at the conference and came up with a game plan to collaberate together. I told her I was having a birthday party for my daughter at a local pie shop and she said she would love to make all of the printables for the party. The rest is kind of history.
For this Sweet As Pie Birthday Party I knew I wanted to go vintage. I have been going to auctions over the last few months and have gathered quite a collection. Some of my vintage finds include, milk glass, lace table cloths, wooden soda crates, an old kitchen scale and glass windows. Plus, the pie shop is very unique and has an old industrial feel to it with the brick walls, exposed pipes and wooden table tops. I knew with my vision, the venue, and Kiki’s amazing creative talents this party would be a success. The colors I choose for the party are, navy, coral, blush, mustard yellow and mint. I just love love this color combination!
Of course we had lots of pie for the party. The top is the signature Rule of Pie Strawberries & Cream. The middle is the Black & Blue pie which is a double crust pie with a filling mixture of blueberries and blackberries. And the bottom pie is one of my favorites, Peanut Butter that has a chocolate graham cracker crust. All of these pies are amazing!
Another signature item at Rule of Pie is their cream puffs. These delicate pastries are filled with homemade vanilla custard, fresh whipping cream and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Need I say more?
You can’t have a party without drinks!
We had homemade lemonade accompanied by the cutest paper straws with a Sweet As Pie banner. I put empty mason jars inside of an old wooden soda crate with the straws already placed inside. Guests were able to help themselves to the refreshing drink.
Guests were invited to the party with these sweet paper pie invitations. You rotate the top pie crust on the invite to see the information about the party. How amazing is that?! I also made to go pie boxes using designs that Kiki created and a pie box template from Silhouette.
I also made utensil holders with a polka dot kraft bag and taped a paper doily to the side. I made more decorations using wooden skewers and mustard yellow felt balls to create flowers.
My sweet as pie daughter, Ellie, had such a great time at her party. Her only requests where a crown, princess dress and pink cake.
