This Tea Towel Gift Set with Free Printable Tag makes a super easy gift idea for Mother’s Day or a hostess gift. You can never have enough cute tea towels for the kitchen. Hello there! Hope you all are having a lovely week. Today I am really excited to share how to make a Tea Towel Gift Set with Free Printable Tag. This project is so simple to make and looks so well put together. Mother’s Day is coming up and these gift sets would be perfect to give to mom. The tea towels and free printable tag I made are all-purpose and can be used for a birthday day presents, a hostess gift, bridal or wedding showers or any occasion. Everyone can use tea towels for their kitchen.
I just love berry baskets. I use them for decorating, craft projects, gifts and more. I love the natural wood baskets because you can decorate them in all kinds of ways. For the tea towel gift set, I just painted the rim of the baskets. The paint adds just enough color and I love the simplistic look.
Here are the supplies I used to make the Tea Towel Gift Set + Printable Tag:
- Rectangle Wooden Berry Basket
- Tea towel
- Paint
- Foam brush
- Natural cotton twine
- Scissors
- Printable tag – you can print the free tag later in this post
So the inspiration for this gift idea came from these tea towels. I was browsing through Target one day and saw these super cute tea towels. I bought the two that are pictured above and I believe they had one with an orange carrot on it. So, I bought these towels and I had the berry baskets at home and ta-da! I came up with making a tea towel gift set.
First, I started by painting the rims of the berry baskets. I had some paint leftover from my succulent pots I made last year. They are mint and mustard color. The paint colors are very pretty and match my tea towels almost perfectly. I love when I can use supplies I already had on hand. I just used a small foam brush to apply the paint. I added just one coat of each acrylic paint.
After the paint was dry, I neatly folded the tea towels inside the berry baskets. I wrapped natural cotton twine around the entire berry basket and added a cute tea towel tag. That mug is so cute. I recommend printing the tags with natural brown kraft paper for a rustic look.

Such a cute gift idea Katie! I love the teatowels you chose. Wish we had berry baskets here but they are not easy to come by. If you have a barb-wire wrapping idea I have tonnes of that! Haha!

Loved this idea! Was wondering the exact size of the berry basket you used? The link seems to be a larger basket. Thanks!
The Casual Craftlete says
Hi Wynne! Here is the exact berry baskets I used: http://shopsweetlulu.com/products/rectangular-wooden-berry-basket
Unfortunately, they are sold out. You can either wait for the baskets to be restock, or just use a different size basket. I would just recommended folding the tea towel a different way.
Thanks for stopping by! Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
